This service is to accommodate individuals with a criminal or forensic background on bail and on Home Detention Curfew. Such individuals require a suitable address and support so they can be released from prison. Supporting offenders to recover from substance misuse (including other addictions) and psychiatric conditions can reduce the risk of re-offending whilst improving the health of the individual.
Who are not eligible for this service: individuals convicted or charged with offences listed in Schedule 3 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003:
- Under 18’s.
- Individuals who pose significant risk to members of the public or those they are accommodated with.
- Those unable to pay rent or claim benefits due to no recourse of public funds.
Eunistar continue to help tackle significant health inequalities in communities across England and Wales as offenders are more likely to misuse drugs and alcohol, commit offences to manage addictions, have a disability, history of trauma, suffer significant mental health conditions and self-harm.
We support individuals in Approved Premises to enhance their lives and provide rehabilitative care packages to minimise risks to self and others. Eunistar believe in the agreement of the National Partnership Agreement for Adults in England (2022 to 2025) which outlines joint goals to be reached by the Ministry of Justice, His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service, Department of Health and Social Care, NHS England and UK Health Security Agency.
How do we achieve this?
Our Approved Premises provide intensive support and supervision to those who present as high risk of serious harm. We play a crucial role in monitoring and managing risks by developing structured programmes of meaningful activities with a focus to reducing re-offending and social inclusion.
The Courts are able to make mental health, drug and alcohol treatment orders as part of any community sentence. Eunistar are able to support individuals in meeting the order to reduce the risk of breaching and recall to prison.
